Oxidized Bitumen 75/30 - Globally Bitumen

Oxidized Bitumen 75/30

General Description

Oxidized Bitumen 75/30 (or Blown Bitumen 75/30) is a semi-solid grade of this category. R75/30 is produced by air blowing pure bitumen, Penetration Bitumen 60/7; in other words, bitumen R75/30 is based on Bitumen 60/70 that achieved by passing very hot air thru it.

Technical Properties : Oxidized Bitumen 75/30

Oxidized Bitumen R75/30 is defined by two numbers which are softening point and needle penetration, respectively. For this grade, softening point is equal to 75 and needle penetration is equal to 30 desi-millimeter. These parameters are measured by an international test method named ASTM. Due to an international standard, softening point and penetration degree are obtained by ASTM D36 and ASTM D5, respectively. For more information, you can refer to the Test Data Sheet (TDS) section.

Applications : Oxidized Bitumen 75/30

Oxidized Bitumen 75/30 (or Oxidized Bitumen 75/30 or R75/30) produced by PUB-LTD CO. is used in industrial applications and operations. It has rubber property more than previous grades; because of its special property in oxidization procedure. It is used in the production of especial paints, civil works, construction, road-making, roofing, facing, flooring, as an anti-slip layer component, undercarriage sealant in the cars and automobile industry, in the pilling industry, electrical operations, cable coating, oil and gas pipelines coating, crack sealing, road repair operations, pulp papers, bituminous products, textile, joint filling compound, sound-reducing agent, dust proofing, waterproofing, lacquers, varnishes, pavements, fuel combination, and paving. Furthermore, it’s used as raw material for adhesive, insulation, isolation bitumen membrane sheet, chemical, especial bitumen-based paints and colors to protect metal structures from corrosion, hydraulic applications and operations, Portland cement pavements, as a base for synthetic turf, producing rubber and plastic.

Handling/Storage : Oxidized Bitumen 75/30

Heating Bitumen in most final uses is a critical stage. Generally, the most important thing in this procedure is heat control. Temperature and heat control can affect various aspects of the product, including its quality. The safe and recommended maximum temperature is 230℃. All Oxidized Bitumen is not hazardous at below 100℃ during shipping operations. Oxidized Bitumen 75/30 for flow and discharge from boiler needs to potential and heat. Heating and heat transfer should be control and perfect. Without good heat transfer may cause overheating and release low flash vapors, which these unwanted side products have a higher fire risk. Moreover, melted bitumen should not be left in the boiler to get cold. Because it can cause overheating and needs more positional energy. Furthermore, placement and installing any temperature and pressure monitoring and control devices are very important. Because if their placement is not true, thermometers can’t display the actual temperature that it can leads to poor monitoring and thermal conductivity.

Health/Safety : Oxidized Bitumen 75/30

Everyone who works in Blown Bitumen (or Oxidized Bitumen) plants should be wear gloves, especial protective masks, and safety glasses. For more information, please refer to MSDS.
